Chemical plant machinery

Enter the batch this plant makes and how often it makes it. The list below is the mechanical equipment that implies — reactor volume, tankage for raw material and product, pump duties and pipe bore — with a rate column you fill in yourself.

How this works →

Your figures

Working volume of one batch, not the vessel size.

Decides the pump and the pipe bore.

Raw material and product are each split across this many.

Material take-off

What to buy, at what size, and how many — worked out from the figures above.

Rates

Every line is estimated from those two figures: its steel — or steel-equivalent — mass at the steel rate, stainless at 3.2×, plus its install days at the labour rate. There is no price feed behind this, so the two anchors are seeded from typical Pakistan figures as of September 2026 and are yours to correct. Type over any individual rate and yours is used instead.

Questions

Why two reactors?
So one can be charging or discharging while the other reacts. A single reactor idles through every changeover, which turns a four-batch day into a two-batch one. If your cycle genuinely allows it, delete the second line from your quotation.
How is the reactor volume worked out?
The batch volume divided by a 0.75 fill factor. The remaining quarter is freeboard for the agitator vortex and any foaming — filling a stirred reactor to the brim throws liquid into the vapour line.
Why is nothing priced?
Because a rate this page invented would be quoted onward as if it were real. The tool gives you what a rate multiplies — a size and a number — and leaves the rate to you and your suppliers.
What is not included?
Utilities, instrumentation and control, safety relief, structural steel, civil work, and anything specific to your chemistry — materials of construction above all. The stainless grades shown are a common default, not a corrosion assessment.
